Deep fried squid rings in batter, often served as appetizer or pulutan.
Ingredients
- 1 kilo squid
- 1 cup custard powder
- 1 whole egg
- 1 tbsp. grated green onions
- 2 cups frying oil
Instructions
- Clean squid of ink and skin.
- Beat egg.
- Dip squid in egg and dredge in custard powder.
- Fry squid rings few at a time for a few seconds until golden brown. Do not overcook or squid will be rubbery.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with ketchup, mayonnaise dip or both mixed together.
